Self-Care Since I was a child, self-care was never a priority. I did not grow to the age of eighteen knowing every single detail of my body. Because I had ADHD, and abuse that had happened to me in my past (which I will be telling my story on this, in a future blog post);…
- Describe what is around you (even if only to yourself)

My Anxiety often flares up, causing social situations to be awkward and overwhelming and my relationships to suffer.
I would question inside my mind if everyone was judging me, what thoughts they were having if they were having fun, and many more. So I cannot handle certain social situations fully like someone without would.
But that is okay. I try to manage my symptoms the best I can every day.
Social situations are not the only barrier I have with my anxiety; I also struggle with sweating, the rapid heartbeat, the brain being filled with different types of thoughts.
In addition, I’ve wondered why my brain would continually think of the past, the future, and in between. Daily, my mind would be fogged up, unable to differentiate or enjoy the present; in the now.
Thoughts would be flying through my mind at 100mph; it felt. Not just about a straightforward thing or subject, try multiple!
Worried about… “What’s going to happen tomorrow? What is going on later? Oh my goodness, if I don’t finish this task by this time, then this will happen…”
When coming across specific thoughts in my head, I feel my hand lift towards my face, and there I place my fingernail in my mouth—such a bad habit, but also a tough one to quit.
I have another tendency to dig at the skin around my nails while anxious, and it has caused bleeding in some cases. These incidents happened mainly during a time of highly stressful situations.
